Ealing Broadway is a mixed use re-development of a constrained inner-city site which was previously occupied a 5 storey5-storey retail building.
The new development includes of 120 new apartments built over a new open plan commercial retail unit at ground floor level.
The new building is built tight to neighboring party walls and between two public roads which makes the construction and site logistics extremely challenging.
The construction of the building utilises piled CFA foundations and a concrete frame with transfer structure at 1st floor level ocer 1000sq ft. retail unit, supporting 10 to 14 stories or residential apartments over.
Owing to the site constraints the existing surface and foul outfalls have been re-used and owing to level constraints the podium area has been designed as a blue roof to provide the London Plan 50% reduction to surface water discharge.
